Master Bedroom Decorating Ideas – Choosing the Fairest of Them All
Tagged Under : Master Bedroom Decorating Ideas, nursery decoration
Choosing the best of your master bedroom decorating ideas can definitely be a hard task if you find yourself liking more than one or two design concepts. If this is the case, a good thing to consider is an eclectic design approach.
Eclecticism refers to a mixture of a number of variables, and in your decorating projecting this simply entails the blend of a number of your favorite master bedroom decorating ideas. Why choose one if you can have them all right? Well, choosing to do an eclectic theme will provide you with the challenging task of making sure that your contrasting master bedroom decorating ideas blend in a harmonious flow of design concepts in the said given space.
So how do you choose? Well, a good thing to consider in eclectic design is to find a common factor such as color. Also, you must know where to put the furniture and accessories and which item to put beside another. This can be quite hard if this is your first design project but if you are happy with what you’ve done then that is all that matters. Remember that all the master bedroom decorating ideas cannot be considered the right design style for you if it doesn’t make you comfortable and happy.
Now, if you are bent on doing the said eclectic approach then here are a number of master bedroom decorating ideas that look great when combined.
1. Country and Contemporary – this results in what is know as Modern Country, and it refers to the use of traditional country elements with new design concepts that reflect the new wave of high-tech and industrial developments.
2. Greek and Roman – this is also known as Greco Roman, and refers to similar elements of Greek and Roman architecture and design combined. These two styles look good together because the two have very similar styles.
3. Tropical and Modern – Asian Art and Design is big in a number of countries, and tropical interiors mixed with a contemporary touch can be very pleasing to the eye.
These are just a few master bedroom decorating ideas to consider in your decorating project. If you want to create your own set of master bedroom decorating ideas then you may look to nature and a few favorite pastimes of yours for inspiration.

Well to start with a gaming teen boy will most likely not care what his decor is, unless it directly affects his gaming, or is game related… (well none that I have met care anyway) so I wouldn't go toooo far with decorating, leave the walls neutral, and put these up, I know it is old now, but they're so old they're now retro kitsch
space invaders wall decals (they also come in pacman) http://www.patriciafield.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=354
Unfortunately this thing is only avail in eastern europe, but WOW! http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/images/2007/10/18/2battleprobig_2.jpg
back to reality though, for bedding I'd just use a totally plain cover that will wear well, the focus isn't about a bed cover in this room, so patterns or designs would be overbearing, unless of course he finds one he is crazy about??
For some great gaming seating target has lots but check this one out, its a sound lounger that is compatible with any audio device… http://www.target.com/Blue-Pyramat-Sound-Lounger-PM550/dp/B00069FEZ6/sr=1-2/qid=1216943582/ref=sr_1_2/602-9342378-8675002?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-original-keywords=Pyramat%20PM220%20Sound%20Rocker&rh=k%3Apyramat%20pm550%20sound%20rocker&page=1
but target has other gaming seating that is pretty cool… http://www.target.com/Video-Game-Furniture-Games-Electronics/b/602-9342378-8675002?ie=UTF8&node=13921431
and for console and games storage there are these two..

For all your other furniture I still think IKEA covers everything teens need, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room but to suit your theme, I'd start with the gaming accessories and then match the furniture, bedding and walls etc, for a cool take though, these lighting strips look fantastic (and if he's gaming overhead light isn't a great idea) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50119407
I'd also use something like the tupplur roll blind to block out light, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room/10701/
and these glass globes look fantastic alone or on top of a little ikea light (can't remember its name but glass globe and light cost me about $20 together) and really look amazing in a darkened room.. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90065662
Other than that, I'd be trying to find some posters of his favorite games, not making the room too bright, and here are a few other smaller ideas to accessorise the room (retro again but he may be too young to appreciate it??) http://www.fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=3714&cat=254

and last but not least, how tech savvy are you? because the score board is fantastic, but requires a bit of skill (and money) to do… (you'll have to scroll down) http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1935015,00.asp
music and baskets…..and a mini tree and some light s in your room….
Thank you maishiranui33. I appreciate your sentiment.
Although I have no aspirations for television, it is a compliment when these opportunities come my way.
Keep checking back on my channel, you never know what we will be uploading next!
Thanks again, RR
I gave you another 5 star because you’re really a Multi Talented person. Thanks! ~Andree’
omg moar, plz. d:
Use throw pillows to decorate your bed…the more pillows the better. Get all shapes and sizes. It creates an illusion that will make you want to fall into the middle of them…as if you were a little kid. Its a very comforting thought, sort of like a big hug. I rather enjoy it. Of course if you are married or living with a significant other then "HE" may not go for that as it will seem too girlie or childish to a guy. But hey if its your room…dazzle yourself. Be creative. Buy a few multicolored light bulbs to put in your lamps. Cover the lamp shades with scarves to emit a softer light. You can have all sorts of fun with that. Good luck.
Hi debbie38381,
Thanks for the compliment. The Velazquez home is truly amazing, I agree. I’d love to live there too:-)
As for my house, I like it ~ and you might as well. Most people naturally think the home of a designer would be AMAZING. . . .
Not necessarily, remember, although we often work for wealthy people, that doesn’t mean WE are wealthy people
Thanks for the interest

Great video Rebecca. Your homes are elegant and so warm and inviting. You have amazing talent. Do I recognize a European designers touch?
Thank you Dreelamb, you are very kind to comment on my videos. It makes me very happy to get feedback from complete strangers. I was in this home again just yesterday with my parents who were visiting from out of town. They have seen this video and of course the magazine featuring the project. They were blown away with how beautiful it is in real life. Wish everyone could see how beautiful it really is. I’m glad you liked it here. It’s a mere representation but thank you again!

awesome decorating ideas for kids shared bedrooms
http://kidsthemebedrooms.com/shared-bedrooms/decorating-shared-bedrooms.html
Well, my older bro has his room painted a dark brownish tan color, with blue bedding. its very calming. he also likes music so he has a couple framed pics of some of his favorite bands on the wall. he also doesnt have alot of furniture, which is helpful for him because its more space to do stuff in. all teenage boys are messy, so my parents have a few storage places for him in there under his bed and in his closet. i hope that helps!
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours. Crazy Y!A isn't allowing me to post the link, so just google "Sherwin Williams Color Visualizer."
I think the color called "agate green" (# 7742) is a gorgeous color for a bedroom. Very natural & peaceful, & it should match a lot of things.
What a nice compliment gisellefan1, I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. If you recognize any particular touch it would be the taste of the clients. I take the responsibility of capturing my clients personal taste and bent very seriously. It’s what makes my work so much fun. At the same time we were working on this home, we were creating a modern beach house for New York transplants. See “Robeson Design Transforms Tract Home”
for a completely different look.
Thanks again,
