Choosing Kids Bedroom Decorating Ideas – Keeping Safety in Mind
Tagged Under : how, Kids Bedroom Decorating Ideas
Decorating your child’s room is actually more challenging compared to decorating an adult’s room. In fact, the main challenge does not lie in looking for kids bedroom decorating ideas but on decorating with safety in mind. The reason behind this is that children are prone to danger if they are unattended and a room full of hazards can be prevented with good child-safety standards.
For the flooring for example, you should use materials that are not slippery and should have more friction to them (but not necessarily a hard material). Wood flooring as well as carpet are both ideal for children’s bedrooms. Moreover, the furniture used in their room should be tailor fit to their sizes and hard edges in the said furniture should be prevented.
Finally, take note that kids are more sensitive to dust and allergies and so the use of fine materials specifically those that are allergy-proof are good precautionary methods in ensuring the comfort and safely of your beloved children.
After you have made sure that the room is hazard-free, then a few kids bedroom decorating ideas will definitely come in handy in making sure that their room is visually appealing.
Cartoon characters have long been popular themes and included in the long list of kids bedroom decorating ideas. Deciding to use such a theme will actually make it easy for you in purchasing children furniture and furnishings because of its abundance in the market. Not to mention, this design concept has been tried and tested and has been used in a good number of children’s bedrooms.
In addition, you may also use images and graphics that children are fond of such as animals and stuff toys for boys or dolls and flowers for girls. Make sure that you decorate the room with the use of either bright primary colors or pastel colors. Remember that children respond to a colorful environment and it has also been said to stimulate creativity in them.

Well to start with a gaming teen boy will most likely not care what his decor is, unless it directly affects his gaming, or is game related… (well none that I have met care anyway) so I wouldn't go toooo far with decorating, leave the walls neutral, and put these up, I know it is old now, but they're so old they're now retro kitsch
space invaders wall decals (they also come in pacman) http://www.patriciafield.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=354
Unfortunately this thing is only avail in eastern europe, but WOW! http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/images/2007/10/18/2battleprobig_2.jpg
back to reality though, for bedding I'd just use a totally plain cover that will wear well, the focus isn't about a bed cover in this room, so patterns or designs would be overbearing, unless of course he finds one he is crazy about??
For some great gaming seating target has lots but check this one out, its a sound lounger that is compatible with any audio device… http://www.target.com/Blue-Pyramat-Sound-Lounger-PM550/dp/B00069FEZ6/sr=1-2/qid=1216943582/ref=sr_1_2/602-9342378-8675002?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-original-keywords=Pyramat%20PM220%20Sound%20Rocker&rh=k%3Apyramat%20pm550%20sound%20rocker&page=1
but target has other gaming seating that is pretty cool… http://www.target.com/Video-Game-Furniture-Games-Electronics/b/602-9342378-8675002?ie=UTF8&node=13921431
and for console and games storage there are these two..

For all your other furniture I still think IKEA covers everything teens need, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room but to suit your theme, I'd start with the gaming accessories and then match the furniture, bedding and walls etc, for a cool take though, these lighting strips look fantastic (and if he's gaming overhead light isn't a great idea) http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50119407
I'd also use something like the tupplur roll blind to block out light, http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room/10701/
and these glass globes look fantastic alone or on top of a little ikea light (can't remember its name but glass globe and light cost me about $20 together) and really look amazing in a darkened room.. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90065662
Other than that, I'd be trying to find some posters of his favorite games, not making the room too bright, and here are a few other smaller ideas to accessorise the room (retro again but he may be too young to appreciate it??) http://www.fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=3714&cat=254

and last but not least, how tech savvy are you? because the score board is fantastic, but requires a bit of skill (and money) to do… (you'll have to scroll down) http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1935015,00.asp
music and baskets…..and a mini tree and some light s in your room….
Use throw pillows to decorate your bed…the more pillows the better. Get all shapes and sizes. It creates an illusion that will make you want to fall into the middle of them…as if you were a little kid. Its a very comforting thought, sort of like a big hug. I rather enjoy it. Of course if you are married or living with a significant other then "HE" may not go for that as it will seem too girlie or childish to a guy. But hey if its your room…dazzle yourself. Be creative. Buy a few multicolored light bulbs to put in your lamps. Cover the lamp shades with scarves to emit a softer light. You can have all sorts of fun with that. Good luck.

awesome decorating ideas for kids shared bedrooms
http://kidsthemebedrooms.com/shared-bedrooms/decorating-shared-bedrooms.html
Well, my older bro has his room painted a dark brownish tan color, with blue bedding. its very calming. he also likes music so he has a couple framed pics of some of his favorite bands on the wall. he also doesnt have alot of furniture, which is helpful for him because its more space to do stuff in. all teenage boys are messy, so my parents have a few storage places for him in there under his bed and in his closet. i hope that helps!
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours. Crazy Y!A isn't allowing me to post the link, so just google "Sherwin Williams Color Visualizer."
I think the color called "agate green" (# 7742) is a gorgeous color for a bedroom. Very natural & peaceful, & it should match a lot of things.

With those keyword phrases identified ?say for example choosing 3 at a time then you can get 6 articles done for you and optimized, two articles per keyword, that would cost around $90 for all 6These articles can be given to someone to be spun (changes slightly in terminology, working etc to make each article unique, and spun into around 10 versions of each, you now have 60 articles which can be distributed to over 60 sites giving you extremely high ranking backlinks. Article marketing is extremely powerful used this way. That would cost around $150 to have the articles re written and distributed. A further $150 would get them again spun a little and added to some very high ranking web 2 properties like hub pages, propeler, squidoo etc. and these would link to your other articles submitted to the directories and to your main site (very powerful, your site will start ranking higher almost immediately with this). Thank you for this article! I’ve just found a surely good blog about seo marketing Try it!
