The children come home from school and throw their shoes on the floor running past to try and get to the television set before one another, your eldest daughter comes homes from college and drops her bag on the table and sits down on the comfy chair to rest her feet and father comes home throws his keys on the side and undoes his top button just in time to catch the children as they come running in to greet him. The kitchen is the hub of the home it is where we all share and help each other with problems, we all chat and gossip here and we all communicate with our family here.

NICE DESIGNS…
Very impressive, indeed!
here you are
eggplant and yellow are great combinations for a kitchen….brightens things up.
I have a tin ceiling, with lime green walls and bamboo shutters for the windows…no theme..just eclectic. a kitchen is a room where everyone convenes. i do not think that a kitchen should have a theme, it should be more roomy and airy yet comfy.
I would check out the Better Homes & Gardens site. Also, HGTV.
NICE DESIGNS…

An efficient work triangle in the kitchen doesn't have to be equilateral but it does help to keep it reasonably close. Measure the distance between the 3 major work areas, sink, cook top, and refrigerator. Total the distance between the three. The optimum distance should be between 12-21 feet. In an equilateral triangle that's 4 to 7 feet per side. There are other things to consider such as how many people will be cooking at the same time and is there enough space to accommodate all persons comfortably.
I have some fruit decor in mine. It really isn't about the "theme" you have it is getting things that are within the colors of your room. For instance if you have a black and white tile floor in your kitchen and brown cabinets with….say…a green counter top–you could hang pictures with those colors in you kitchen regardless the picture. You could hang a picture of a bottle of wine and 2 glasses on a table with a green table cloth on it and it could be shadowed with brown colors. Then on another wall you could have two cups that could be black and green with a white saucer. I hope this makes sense to you and you understand a little where I am headed with this. I hope I have helped.
